Cafe La Vies sits tucked inside a busy strip mall near Sacramento’s Center Parkway, offering a lively spot for coffee enthusiasts looking to explore beyond the usual espresso and drip options. The atmosphere tends to hum quietly with soft background music, making it a solid place for casual meet-ups or a focused solo break, though it can get a bit warm inside during peak hours.

This café is known locally for its diverse range of Vietnamese coffee preparations and thoughtfully crafted matcha drinks. You’ll find traditional favorites alongside creative foams — tiramisu and ube cream are notable choices that add a textured richness without overpowering the coffee’s character. Visitors who enjoy experimenting with flavors often appreciate the available flights, sampling different matcha or Vietnamese coffee variations in one visit.

Besides coffee, Cafe La Vies offers a selection of fruit teas and lemonade options that lean toward refreshing and vibrant, ideal for warmer days or as a lighter alternative to their more intense brews. For a small snack, mochi waffles and plain croissants provide simple, familiar bites to accompany your drink.

The crowd here includes locals who consider it their go-to for a reliable Vietnamese coffee fix and those intrigued by the specialty cold foams and creative pairings. The space fills up by mid-afternoon with friends catching up over drinks or individuals working on laptops, though on some days Wi-Fi issues have been noted. Service is friendly and patient, with staff taking the time to walk newcomers through the menu’s unique options.

This spot works best for anyone seeking a casual, flavorful coffee experience with a Southeast Asian twist in a relaxed, conversational environment. Visiting mid-morning or early afternoon allows you to enjoy a vibrant, yet not overwhelmingly busy, vibe. It’s a comfortable choice if you’re craving Vietnamese coffee or want to explore matcha beyond the standard latte.

Their vietnamese coffees are delicious! The matchas are yummy as well. They offer flights for their matcha and their vietnamese coffee. They have a variety of cold foams to choose from. We tried both flights and went back to try to seasonal vietnamese flight. We were not disappointed either times.

This is my favorite place to grab Vietnamese coffee around Sac. I like to add tiramisu foam on top to add a little bit of sweetness. Their fruit teas are also very good.

Loved their matcha flight. We had the banana matcha, tiramisu, coconut and OG. So many choices and the flavors are great. They also have some pastries on the menu!

Met my friend at this place for a drink and something to nibble on, but mostly catching up. This was a happening place as all the tables and sofas were taken by the time we left around 2:30pm. I really wanted to try their Vietnamese coffee, but I made the smart choice not to as a strong coffee would affect me... badly. Hence, I decided to just get a regular cafe latte. It was pretty warm inside so an iced latte was ordered. Good, the ice would dilute my drink even more. Lol. My friend and I shared the snacks: croissant, mochi waffle, and churro donuts. I liked the mochi waffle, but it was not very special. Also, it was pretty small. The plain croissant was adequate and the churro donut was average. Although I didn't try the Vietnamese coffee, based on what I had, the drinks were better than the food items. 3.5 stars overall, but I bumped it up to 4 since my cafe latte was pretty good. I imagine the Vietnamese coffee (their signature and recommended item) could only be better.

Service - 5/5 The staff were very friendly and took the time to explain the different drinks for us. Atmosphere - 4/5 Only 4 because WiFi was down but I had plenty of reception for AT&T so it wasn’t a problem. There was music playing in the background but it was not loud so you could have a regular conversation without talking loud. Food/drinks - 5/5 We only orders drinks and we had 2 different types of Vietnamese Coffees. Vietnamese Egg Coffee was delicious. Right amount of sweetness and the "egg" did not overpower the Vietnamese Coffee Vietnamese Sea Salt was also delicious. This was our first time here because we were charging our vehicle. It was a perfect spot to charge and glad that there was this cafe to have some coffee before our drive back home.

This is one of the better matchas in Sacramento. I tried the double matcha and the banana matcha. I’m not a fan of the banana foam or the double matcha foam, they have a slightly weird aftertaste. But the matcha quality itself is really good. This is definitely one of my favorites in Sacramento.
